This Philips HF3520 Wake-Up Light With Colored Sunrise Simulation is a well thought out product. It takes some experimenting with the settings to get it set to be ideal
for how you want to be woken up, but it works very, very well once you
figure out what works for you and there's more than enough customizable
settings to do the job.
This one actually LOOKS like a sunrise. The radio and birdsongs can be turned off for a silent, light-only
alarm. The light begins to glow before the actual alarm time so that is
fully bright at alarm time. The light turns off by itself after about an
hour after the alarm goes off, giving me time to get ready in the
morning.
I was surprised by the intensity of the
LED both in terms of how bright it gets and by how soft and pleasant it
can be.
This Philips HF3520 Wake-Up Light With Colored Sunrise Simulation is a superb use of LED technology. They added a few more sounds that you can wake up to (besides radio). I
still like the birds the best, but the others are nice. FM radio gets
very good reception and sounds decent.
The light starts pleasantly orangish and progresses to a bright white
light. I like this color light better for general illumination, and
since it runs cooler than the old halogen model, it's suitable for a
bedside lamp. Cooler also means there are no open vents on this new
model.
Philips has become the leader in specialty lights designed to improve
and maintain mood. This lamp/clock is just as functional as the older
model, but shows the refinements of a 2nd-generation product. It's much
nicer looking, sounds better, and the user interface is much improved.
Philips HF3520 Wake-Up Light With Colored Sunrise Simulation Highly recommended.
