Reviews Uplift Technologies DL930 Day-Light 10,000 Lux SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder) Lamp

I use this  Uplift Technologies DL930 Day-Light 10,000 Lux whenever I feel a little bummed out, especially on rainy days. If you have SAD, regular depression or even just general winter blues, give this lamp a try. It may seem a little pricy or even "new age-y," but the science behind it just makes good sense, and the price is extremely reasonable compared to other models out there.

White light does not contain UVA or UVB rays, and has been used in hospitals to combat depression for almost 20 years. It helps in about 50% of cases of Seasonal Affective Disorder. Improved mood-yes, decreased cravings for carbs.-yes, my body thinks it's sunny all the time in Seattle-yes. It was worth every penny.

This Uplift Technologies DL930 Day-Light 10,000 Lux SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder) Lamp is great. There may be other (better) ones, but I haven't tried them. This lamp provides plenty of light in the winter months and has saved me from the winter blues.

The price may be a little high, but it will bring you sanity for years to come. I wouldn't take a chance on anything cheaper; when it comes to your mental health, price is irrelevant. There is a trick to using this lamp, and that is that you actually have to USE it. Every day. Fire up some steel drum music, close your eyes, and place the lamp right next to your face. Buy one for the office and one for home.

This is actually IMO the best bright light therapy device out there. Only one other lightbox would earn four stars from me; the Philips GoLite BLU. Why is this one the best? There's one big, important reason backed by new scientific data: This one comes with a stand, designed to position the lightbox OVER whatever you're looking at. (You could put it above a computer screen, book, newspaper, TV, breakfast, whatever floats your boat.)

That's very important because the special light receptors in your eye that this device stimulates are mostly found in the top half of your visual field. Those special receptors are designed to tell what time of day it is by noticing the brightness of the sky, which is (obviously) above the horizon, not below.

I would recommend this Uplift Technologies DL930 Day-Light 10,000 Lux SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder) Lamp  to anyone who has the winter blahs or who suffers from depression or similar disorders.
